See Aladdin and More at Disney's West End Pop Up This Summer

If you've been near London's Covent Garden this summer then you've probably noticed that Disney's West End Summer Pop Up is back!

So come on down, come on in, and let the magic begin with Disney's current and upcoming West End productions.

Costumes from The Lion King line the entrance way, with Aladdin's magic lamp sitting proudly in the centre of the room as the show plays it's final summer in the West End. Next year Frozen will make it's West End debut and a special photo experience allows you to "Let It Go".

But if you grew up in the 90s then you'd be more rewarded to consider, this;

Yes! The original Sega game is free to play on these special arcade machines! And yes, I still totally suck at it.

The Pop Up is open seven days a week until Sunday, 1st September, and features live performances from the casts of The Lion King and Aladdin at 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays respectively (please note there is no Aladdin performance on Friday 30th August). You can find more details and a full schedule of activities at Disney on Stage. And yes, the bear in the Aladdin cast jacket can be bought at the Pop Up along with a Lion King version.

Next time I go, I will beat that game!!

Disney Celebrates 25 Years on Broadway

Thursday 18th April was a very special day for Disney Theatrical as they celebrated 25 years of bringing Disney magic to Broadway!

That's right, it's been 25 years since Disney first brought Beauty and the Beast to the Broadway stage. Disney's first stage adaptation ran for an incredible 13 years, helping to revitalise Broadway and bring in a whole new generation of theatre goers. Since then Disney Theatrical have adapted many of Disney's most famous animated classics, live action movies, and even crafted entirely new productions just for the stage.

To celebrate 25 years of theatrical magic, the casts of Disney Theatrical's current Broadway hits, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Frozen, took part in a very special medley on Good Morning America that spanned 25 years from Beauty and the Beast to Frozen.

Here's to the next 25 magical years!

Genie is Going to D23

In 2013 Disney Theatrical took the D23 Expo by storm with their Broadway and Beyond concert.  The evening consisted of songs from every show from Beauty and the Beast right through to Newsies and the evening ended with a special performance of "Somebody's Got Your Back" from the then upcoming Aladdin.

Well D23 have announced that Disney Theatrical are returning to this year's D23 Expo with The Originals and the concert will be bigger and better than ever as it takes the audience on a musical journey through some of Disney's greatest Broadway numbers!  Due to the overwhelming demand for the 2013 event, the 2015 concert will be held not once but twice on the main Stage 23!

Broadway and Beyond's Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) and Josh Strickland (Tarzan) will both be returning for The Originals and joining them will be Aladdin's very own James Monroe Iglehart who will also host the 70 minute extravaganza!

Disney on Broadway's The Originals will take place on Saturday 15th August at 11am and 2pm on Stage 23 at the D23 Expo in Anaheim.  Tickets and more information on the D23 Expo can be found here.

I can't make it this year (oh how I wish I could after reading this) but one year I swear I'll make it to one of these!!
